Phototherapy for Psoriasis

Phototherapy

Light therapies are carried out in clinics or specially equipped dermatology practices. They are particularly well suited to treating the scalp and smaller areas of the skin. Phototherapy uses ultraviolet (UVB) rays, just like those found in natural sunlight, which helps to slow the process within the skin that leads to psoriasis. Important: Light therapy is not the same as using a sunbed and should always be carried out by a dermatologist.
